Easy Discourse plugins to improve the forums

Who’s Online -

Follower plugin

  • The Follow Plugin mimics a user based news feed providing a Topic List called “Following” that only shows recent Topics authored by or involving someone you follow.

Quick quote:

And what would complete the forums would be a “user board/wall” where you can make a status/wall and people can comment on it. like on previous forums. I know there is a plugin for it but I haven’t found it.

Looks good to me. Useful ones.

Just like the old forums, it would be cool to have those features back in the new forums.

Yes please, I’d like to see that added

Would really love to see these back.
They’ll probably add these soon or in the future.(hopefully)

Nice suggestions.
I just now messaged someone asking if they’d like to add as friends on discord because there’s no friends/follow system here, lol.

Also if possible, Signatures.
Not like I have or had anything to put on it, but still a nice addition or feature to have.

Oh yeah. I forgot to add that.

no doubt that these could be useful.

It won’t let me edit my post for some reason. So I’ll go ahead and put the plugin here.
They should probably change that disabled edit

Who’s online might be good, but there’s literally no point in having followers here. Everyone can see your posts, following someone has no effect.

I agree with ALL of these plugins.
It would really give everyone more forum features and make it seem more… homey.

Ok it’s cool that you of hundreds of people have no use for followers, I’m sure other people will enjoy having additional features to show you want to be associated with the posts of people they respect and admire, without the need of direct stalking.

There’s other platforms for this. Besides, follows don’t mean you’re respected, it usually just means you’re pOpUlAr iN tHe gAmE/fOrUmS

Unless you respect, or like someone to some degree, why would you follow them? Someone being popular doesn’t mean you instantly like them, they gain their popularity for being an acknowledged and respected person within a community.

Status is usually the main reason to follow someone.

That’s a president, less so a community.

meaningless bump

It has been a year and there really haven’t been any substantial improvements to the forums, it would be nice to see some more plugins.
