Mining Key Guide

This guide is made on the 22nd of May 2021, if you’re reading this at a later time the prices might no longer be the same

Current prices of Mining Keys
Bronze Mine Key (LVL 2) - 2 Keys / 1 World Lock
Silver Mine Key (LVL 3) - 1 Key / 2 World Locks (3 Keys / 5 World Locks)
Golden Mine Key (LVL 4) - 1 Key / 4 World Locks (3 Keys / 11 World Locks)
Platinum Mine Key (LVL 5) - 1 Key / 6 World Locks (2 Keys / 11 World Locks)

So the question we often have to ask ourselves when mining is: “What key should I be using?”
Well I’ll try to explain the best I can in this guide, if you have anything else I should add or some prices that aren’t correct, please let me know in the replies!

First off a 100% completed mine will give you 70 nuggets, 1 Mining token and anywhere from 20 to 200+ Gemstones and also materials from the monsters.
Of course you don’t get perfect runs every time, but I would say it’s possible to get about 200 nuggets in 3 runs. So that’s what I’m going to be using for my calculations.

Bronze Mine Key
So you can get 2 Bronze Keys for 1 world lock. Now if we say you get 200 silver nuggets in 3 runs, this would mean you need to use 3 bronze keys (1.5 World Locks)
Then you could sell those silver keys for 2 World Locks each making 4 World Locks making a profit of approximately 2.5 World Locks per 3 runs, and that’s excluding the materials and gemstones.
I would recommend bronze keys if you have either a Flimsy or Normal Pickaxe.

Silver Mine Keys
So you can get 1 Silver key for 2 World Locks.
Now if we say you get 200 gold nuggets in 3 runs, this would mean you need to use 3 silver keys (5-6 World Locks)
Then you could sell those gold keys for 4 World Locks each making 8 World Locks making a profit of approximately 2.5 World Locks per 3 runs, and that’s excluding the materials and gemstones.
I would recommend silver keys if you have either a Sturdy or Heavy Pickaxe.

Golden Mine Key
So you can get 1 Golden key for 4 World Locks.
Now if we say you get 200 platinum nuggets in 3 runs, this would mean you need to use 3 golden keys (11-12 World Locks)
Then you could sell those platinum keys for 6 World Locks each making 12 World Locks making a profit of approximately 0 World Locks per 3 runs, but that’s excluding the materials and gemstones.
In the LVL 4 mine the gemstones are very valuable and can be sold for a lot of gems and the materials dropped by the monster can also have a small chance to be worth some world locks.
I would recommend golden keys if you have a Master Pickaxe, but it is also doable with a Heavy Pickaxe.

Platinum Mine Keys
Now platinum keys are different from the rest of the keys as the nuggets you get the are untradable. So why would you want to mine in there? Well the nuggets can be exchanged to Dark Stones which can be used to buy very exclusive and op items including the best possible fishing rod, pickaxe and the only wings in the game that have the ability to triple jump.
The keys cost 6 World Locks each, and I will only recommend you farm this mine if you have an Epic Pickaxe.

This is it for the guide, hope it helped. I would like to improve it with the gemstones and material prices, but I really am not sure the averages and stuff so if you know, please let me know in the replies.

This is a nice guide, I hope you will add the average gemstones that you get, I’m kinda torn between using bronze key or silver key since they both gives 2.5 profit

Well I’d recommend you look at what pickaxes I recommended. The ores in LVL 3 mine can take a few too many hits if you have a bad pickaxe, so also take that into consideration.
But if you have the recommended pickaxe I would say go for silver keys as the gemstones are more valuable than in the LVL 2 mine.

A little repetitive due to the copy & pasted data values and a little inaccurate in some aspects (for example, every rod has a purpose, the dark carbon fiber rod is not the best). But besides that, it certainly isn’t a bad guide and completes it’s purpose quite well. As for my opinion on level 5 runs, for sure only should be done with an epic or dark pickaxe, but it’s perhaps the most interesting level as there is the possibility of great ingredients, great amounts of gems from each entry, dark nugget rewards, only downside being the entry cost. I couldn’t recommend it if you aren’t going for something like wings of the deep or another dark stone item as the lack of tradeable nuggets does lower the profit margin (in the end, it keeps the game balanced either way).
