yes it was a bit silly
Each audition usually lasts 2- 3 mins. You have to perform something like a song or dance or any other talent. The judges have 4 buzzers that they can use to instantly say no, if you get all 4 buzzers you are instantly out. Once you have finished, the judges tell you yes or no and if you are successful you go through to the next round.

If you were to just read the text in the mod application you would already know.

There is no set due date for mod applications this time around. Historically though, they typically take about a month to make selections (it could be different this time though). Good luck!
