Stop pandering to GT players

I mean, who exactly do you suggest they advertise to? Nobody at all? GT makes sense, even if they do want to differentiate from the game

If MrSongo was sponsored, there’s an issue since he made it sound like it wasn’t sponsored, but UpY did note he was sponsored.

Terraria, minecraft, roblox, etc etc etc @Kaluub we don’t have to be pandering to GT players every single time we sponsor, its the wrong fanbase to target marketing at, the game won’t get popular

This is unfair to older creators who have worked hours and hours making videos for PW, and you think its a good choice to pay for a sponsorship from a youtuber of a game that really isn’t that popular to make a WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY smaller game popular? I don’t see your logic.

**The game is way different from PW, its more of a terraria copy than growtopia, it has GT’s mmo elements but not the better sponsorship game, Terraria would be way better because,
1.
its more popular than GT by a long shot
2. the graphical designs is similiar

GT only gets 9k to 20k active players, and 3k or so are bots most of the time spamming for casinos, it would be better to target a better, MORE POPULAR GAME, THAN A GAME WE ARE TRYING TO BRANCH OFF OF

I’m not reading that, take my heart.

ok, respectable, have a nice day.

You think we don’t sponsor video creators from those games? We have sponsored over 50 youtube channels in the past 2 years. This is the first time we thought, “hey lets target these guys”. I dont care about the game you play but your audience and here their audience match to our game we want it or not. Just makes sense  Also these guys are pretty cool people so why not

I haven’t seen one sponsor from terraria youtubers, or minecraft youtubers, or any other kind of genre, it’s mostly been GT, this isn’t recent like you said, you have done this in this in the past, this isn’t the first time.

First off, the amount of playerbase is CRITICAL to marketing decisions, GT playerbase has 9k players on average, and most that amount is bots in trading worlds. It would be better to target other games rather than a dying game that has 20k players at its peak, that’s not alot, and it won’t help the game get more popular.

Its also unfair to older creators for a one time sponsor to get creator: think about it like this, Imagine a fictional guy named Billy, he works hard to get creator rank, 50+ pw videos, just to see another player who gets a 1 time sponsor to get influencer

Uh… 20k at it’s peak? They even publicly share the current user count:

And 50k is quite a lot of players regardless, you’re just used to millions in ginormous games.

We have mainly used youtubers in Poland, Lithuania, Finland and Sweden. Only some in mexico, Brazil and France. Bigest one so far had like 3 million views and it was from Poland. Won’t search the video but you can if you want

Examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uwc1rDvaUlc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXpOWqeqCGQ&t=538s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaCT9jrlNYo&t=3s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPqNy9MEyd4&t=6s

and there are many more.

We have not given any creator status after we remade it half a year ago. Yro had his old status from few years back that we forgot to remove and it was removed after he made the video.

Ohh yeah and this was the first time doing this with GT youtubers as we wanted to see how people react in our community and theirs. We also have not done english content before so this is a first try into that one as well. Well maybe one or two but not really. So just a small test basically

Oh ok, you should remove it though, that explains that.

Well its good your diving into english content, imo it would be better to target american and english players with marketing, I think english terraria and minecraft youtubers, or sandbox english youtubers in general since it is the biggest language on the internet

A good amount is bots though

also @Jake please explain this

The Problem with English content is that normally people across the globe watch English content. We normally want to target a specific country. For example with an English youtuber you cannot target UK if you want. Because of this reason it’s quite hard to track if it was successful or not. We get a lot of downloads every day and for these to show in the data in any meaningful way we would need at least 5k downloads per day and normally that would require about 200k views per day so most likely millions of views. Those are also super expensive. May cost up to 100k per video.
So should we do those bigger youtubers or should we hire 2 more programmers to develop the game. 100k is a big risk especially when you might just get those downloads from random countries that unfortunately are not worth that much to return the investment.
I might actually just hire 2 more programmers
