Easy to read hard to type. 
Summary
I would suggest reading it on toaster. Opens up a whole new experience- you click and it pops right up in the air. All by itself. Including reading the posts.
Either way both look so similar that it actually makes no difference imo. I like browsing on e-ink tablet although light theme of the forums would be nice for that.
Also I think that reading though categories might be fun as there might always be something interesting in old posts. I’ve bookmarked some category pages because the main landing page reffers to new posts which might sink down older posts and discussions.
