And before you ask what the heck am I doing on Binance, back when I was slightly interested in crypto, I was looking for exchanges to register to. Coinbase immediately asked me for ID when I tried to register so I gave them the middle finger and tried looking for alternatives.
Thankfully I never actually invested in it or sent any money, it was just a dummy account. Now they restricted it unless I upload ID, 3D scan of face, a blood sample, and a sacrifice to Satan, and now they are trying it with bribes. Pathetic.
Yeah, here’s my SSN, mother’s maiden name, my birth AND totally real death certificate, and my 3D scan and print of my face. I also included my cut finger for fingerprinting purposes, and an eye for iris scan. Have a nice day!
And? Because of the nature of any server, regardless of how good their security is, all the info can STILL get leaked. And it’s not stuff such as your birthday or IRL name which everyone knows, it’s actually extremely sensitive stuff that can easily be used for identity theft.
If the purpose was seriously to protect, let me scan my ID card and send that scan via snail mail.
